National Whipped Cream Day

Whipped cream on German chocolate pie.

Laura and Anthony are coming for dinner tonight, and for dessert we are having German chocolate pie.  And to honor National Whipped Cream Day, I will serve a dollop of whipped cream with the pie.  Isn't it nice to have an excuse for whipped cream which we don't have very often?  Of course I whip my own cream.  None of that canned stuff for us.


  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla


Whip cream until almost stiff. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until cream holds peaks. Spread over top of cooled pie or dollop on bread pudding, gingerbread, cobblers, or other desserts.
Use 1 cup of heavy cream.
Add vanilla and sugar.
Ready to eat.

Whip it good - January 5 is National Whipped Cream Day!
